Day 1 - Bad Ragartz and a long climb
We meet at 10am at the train station in Bad Ragaz. After getting to know each other and dropping the baggage, we start running through Bad Ragaz and explore its famous open air art gallery before starting to climb the Heidipfad. Soon we’ll be overlooking the Rhein valley and keep climbing to Pardiel (restaurant and toilets available), where we take a break and enjoy the views. We continue climbing single trails past two lakes (Vilterser & Wangser Seeli) before we reach the highest point of the Pizol ski resort at 2'222m above sea level. From there we drop down to the mountain hotel Gaffia, where we’ll have dinner and stay over night.
Day 2 - Pizol, Flowy trails and 5 lakes
This is the most beautiful part of this tour. After breakfast we mainly follow the “5 lakes hiking trail” and climb up to Wildseelugge from where we have a great view on the Wildsee surrounded by steep mountain peaks (Graue Hörner, Pizol, Hörnli). After a short descent, we past the remainings of a glacier and climb Pizol 2’844m. We take some time enjoying the unique view on the Sardona Unesco World Heritage and countless peaks before we take on the easier part of today. Flowy singletrails lead us past Wildsee, Schottensee, Schwarz- and Baschalvasee and famous rock formations (Steinmannli). We’ll have lunch on the go and get past 1 mountain hut where we can refresh ourselfs. Few more kilometers downhill and we reached todays final destination hotel Alpina, serving great food in it’s sunny terrace.
Day 3 - Tamina gorge and wellness
Today starts with a gentle downhill before we enter wilder terrain and drop into the valley Valeis, separating the ski resort Wangs and Bad Ragaz. Soon we start climbing again, cross the Heidipfad we took on day 1 and decide whether to continue into another valley of Tamina or decent to Bad Ragaz. The bonus loop, leads us through the village of Valens and into the Taminatobel famous for its warm water source nowadays feeding the Wellness Resort in Bad Ragaz. We’ll continue a gentle downhill following the Tamina creek to finally reach Tamina Therme in Bad Ragaz where your baggage awaits you and you get to relax and recover with over 7’300 square meters of wellness area.
